Veneers

Transform your smile

In just two or three dental visits, Dr. Pasut can transform your smile with porcelain veneers. We apply porcelain facades to mask broken, crooked, or stained teeth, and they even hide unsightly gaps. Veneers are made of porcelain, so they do not easily stain, and they are very durable. We work with talented ceramists who can shape and shade the perfect veneers to enhance your image.

Traditional porcelain veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, they are permanent and non-reversible. Veneers made of porcelain typically look more natural and last longer then composite bondings. The process involves buffing the tooth, removing an extremely thin layer of the tooth to allow for the thickness of the veneer, an impression of the tooth, and final bonding of the veneer to the tooth with special cement. A special light is used to complete the process.

The other popular option in restorative cosmetic dentistry today are LUMINEERS®. LUMINEERS are different than a traditional veneer in the way they are manufactured and placed. LUMINEERS® is a brand of porcelain veneers. (DuraThins™ is another brand with similar properties and application.) A LUMINEERS restoration is as thin as a contact lens and placed over existing teeth without having to remove tooth structure. Like traditional porcelain veneers, LUMINEERS restorations are an excellent cosmetic solution for stained, chipped, discolored or misaligned teeth.

An ideal candidate for Lumineers must have enough remaining tooth surface on which to bond the LUMINEERS to ensure long-term results. Since Lumineers do not require the removal of tooth structure, they can be removed if circumstances require it.

Both veneers and Lumineers are made of thin, durable porcelain material and both can provide natural looking, long lasting results when prepared by an experienced, competent dentist. In order to determine which option is best for you, Dr. Pasut will consider a variety of circumstances, which include your unique dental history, your overall health, your personal desires and expectations, and her professional understanding of how your final results will meet your needs.
